Sports and Baptism

Fall sports came to a close last week and Tommy finished up a great season of flag football.  His team was awesome and made some plays that were so spectacular for 2nd and 3rd graders.  Tommy's coach told me at the last game that he was by far the most improved player of the season.  And I agreed with that 100%.  The other kids could run through a heard of kids without getting tagged and run forever for a touchdown, throw plays 20 feet long and catch and run for a touchdown, and then there was Tommy who is 30 pounds heavier than any of them running at a snails pace just trying to catch up.  He was the official snapper and got at least one running play a game.  He got a love of the game and hopefully will excel at tackle football where his size is actually an advantage!
Caroline finished up another season of soccer.  When we moved in our neighbors politely asked if Caroline was good at soccer (she is so frail and skinny that you wouldn't think so) and when I said yes, they begged me to put her on their team.  Even though it was a coed team she was by far one of the best assets to the team.  It was fun to see her get her aggressive side out in a healthy manner!  She loved playing on her friend Amelia's team and having Amelia's brother on it too and their Dad as a coach.  We love our new neighbors and it was fun to share this season with them.
These two rag muffins are becoming really good buddies.  More often that not I find them wanting to be by each other's side.  It is fun to capture these moments!
Last night Tommy was baptized and it was a very special day.  He had to wear an adult extra small sized jump suit!  After snapping some pictures of Tommy and Hyrum together I realized how much Tommy is turning into his father, it was cute to see them matching and sharing this special day together.  Tommy was so thrilled to finally get baptized.  Caroline was so happy and excited for him to that after his baptism and while he was walking out of the font she couldn't hold her excitement in any longer and started giggling, it was so cute to see her that happy for her brother, it was truly a happy giggle.  And it was definitely a truly happy day and a great parental payoff!
