Our FUN Vacation with the Hoskins

This past weekend we went with the Hoskins to Capitol Reef and some surrounding parks for a lot of fun adventures. Our first hike of the trip was to Hickman Bridge in Capitol Reef. Tommy was able to do this one (2 mile round trip) all by himself, with a lot of encouragement from his cousins. Caroline mode of transportation was a great backpack we borrowed from the Schlichters, it is a luxury backpack and Caroline was quite comfortable.

Our second day was a big hiking day. First we drove down to Escalante to visit the petrified wood forest and went on their one mile hike. It was interesting but maybe not worth the effort unless you are just passing by Escalante. Then we went to the big hike of the day at Calf Creek Falls. It was 6 miles round trip and in the end worth it. We would have never been able to do these hikes if it wasn't for the Hoskins. Thanks to them we were able to see this amazing waterfall!

Our third day was was another fun day. We drove to Goblin Valley and the kids were in creative heaven. It was so fun to see them run around, climb everywhere, and show off their skills. I would say their faces were equivalent to faces on Christmas morning. Their excitement at the next thing to explore and the next thing to climb never got old....they couldn't get enough. It was also fun to see Caroline and Megan find one little creation and play on it for an hour while the big kids went exploring.

Our last day we didn't want the fun to end so we went fishing in the morning before eating lunch at a burger joint in Torrey. The scenery was beautiful and worth it even though we had to walk through a well worn cow pasture.
This trip was full on driving, hiking, eating, playing, swimming, and exploring. When I put Tommy to bed tonight he said he wanted to go back tomorrow. And I definitely feel the same way!

How fun! We used to go there every year when we lived in Utah. Our friends family had a home in Teasdale near Torrey that we would stay at. Brings back awesome memories! I am glad you had a fun time!!!
