For Memorial Day we decided to do a trek preparation hike up above the Bountiful temple. Hyrum had done it with the Young Men's the week before and came home and said it was so hard so of course we had to do it as a family. It was only 1 1/2 one way but straight up with no switch backs which made it hard on the way up and hard on the way down. It was fun to pull into the parking a lot as the same time as the Kyhl Family and join together for the hike. It was also fun because we did the hike in "memory" of Uncle Kevin who gave a family fireside shortly before he died about mountains and trials we have to climb in our lives. At the end of the hike we were able to sit on top of mountain with the perfect view of the temple....it was the perfect memorial day activity.
Emily finished soccer this Spring. She overall had fun but the club has co-ed teams up until age 5 so we might wait until she is 5 to do more soccer. She loved running around but would not get in the action with all those crazy boys. She had a great coach that was able to pull her out of her shell by the end.
