The first week of summer we spent at the beach in Oceanside, California with the whole Christensen family. We stayed at a great beach house right on the water and loved every minute of it (well maybe not the blown out tire on the way home). Overall the week was pretty overcast which had it positives and negatives. On the positive, it made a great day at Sea World, a lot less sun burns, made for lots of fishing opportunities on the beach (Caroline caught one and Hyrum caught one), and made it so a grey whale came within 100 feet of our beach and circled right in front of us for about 1/2 hour. Negatives, without the sun it made the beach a little chilly for the adults. I personally loved layering with clothes and being cozy while watching my kids play, play, play and loved the weather! It was fun to have my kids make memories with their cousins, our as Katherine calls them, "her best friends," and it was also nice to have uninterrupted Hyrum for a whole week.
