Disneyland Adventure

We just got back from our first trip to Disneyland and it was amazing.  The weather was heavenly and couldn't have been better.  We decided to do three days at the resort and it was a good decision because it was super crowded from the Holiday weekend and we weren't pressured into staying late every day.  If we just got there right when it opened then we were able to beat the big crowds and hop right on the rides we wanted.  Tommy and Caroline loved, loved, loved Disneyland.  They were so patient in the lines, never had any tantrums or breakdowns, and throughly enjoyed every minute they were there.  Emily and Katherine loved when they were able to escape the stroller.  Emily did love the Ariel ride and realized that some of the rides weren't scarey!  At the end of the trip she would hold both hands up and say "weeee" and that was worth every penny.  By the end of the trip Katherine was done, she never really had any tantrums but was just overall very sensitive to everything.

What made the trip awesome was staying with the Hegewalds and playing with cousins.  We had two days where we had most of the Cannon family together for a day at Disneyland and a day at the beach, it was awesome!  Here are the highlights from our trip:
  • Jedi Training.  Tommy was picked in the huge crowd and was so excited to learn how to be a Jedi, it was probably the biggest highlight for me to watch.
  • The kids loving the big rides (Space Mountain, Star Tours, Matterhorn, etc.) and letting us use a stroller pass so that we could do them back to back.
  • The beach.  Emily loving the seagulls, Tommy playing in the water, Caroline building sand castles, and Katherine eating way to much sand.
  • Watching Emily start dancing to Ariel when you see the "Under the Sea" room.
  • Going on the ferris wheel with all the kids without Hyrum (who was doing Screamin' by himself) and regretting every minute of deciding to go on the swinging side.
  • Staying with the Hegewalds and watching the kids bond.  Sam was very cute with Emily and Emily talked non-stop the whole time we were there.
  • Talking with the kids about what was their favorite ride and after every one hearing, "oooohhh, that one was awesome"
