Bear Lake

Labor Day weekend we had a last summer vacation to Bear Lake with our friends the Nelsons.  It was the best!  There were so many highlights but overall the best was introducing our kids to jet skiing and tubing.  Here are some more highlights:
  • Watching our kids have fun with the Nelson kids.  Tyler and Emily following each other around, sharing their snacks, and competing for the nosiest toddler.  Tyler and Caroline snuggling in their bed.  Russell and Tommy exploring the beach for frogs, waking up early every morning and hearing their whispers, and watching them on the tube together.
  • Watching Tommy get thrown off the tube and loving every minute of it.  He could be on the jet ski and tube all day.  It was a tie between Tommy and Tyler and who loved it the most.
  • Having a cabin right on the lake with a private beach and dock.  It was soooo nice to leave babies sleeping and be on the beach without any worries.
  • Waking up at 6:30 one morning to Russell saying, "it snowed last night."  Not really snow but hail from a big storm that conveniently came while we were sleeping and not playing.
  • Emily gaining a new nickname, the sand monster.  It would gross me out but I think she ate more sand than food on our trip and anywhere she went or touched she left a trail of sand.
  • Venturing out on the tube myself and realizing my neck muscles are not up to par.
  • Eating the wide spectrum of food.  Junk for snacks and gourmet meals provided by the Nelsons....fresh peach pie, Sunday breakfast, etc.
  • Hearing Katherine giggle a lot.  She seemed extremely happy on our trip and loved to watch the kids play on the beach and slept like a champ.
Can you tell we had fun?  It was magical!
